4/30/2013 - With a porous midsole, the new Asics Gel-Noosafast is a shoe designed specifically for triathletes, yet is versatile enough to be used as a super light weight-flexible, and responsive racing shoe for any runner. The snug fit of the Noosafast is perfect for race day and with it's overlay-less upper there should be no uncomfortable areas in fit. Overall, Asics shows that it is one of the best at making racing shoes in the Gel-Noosafast.

Altra Intution, Instict, and Torin
4/8/2013 - Altra brings a unique yet refreshing approach to running shoes. This zero-drop, natural running shoe boasts an ample amount of protection and an incredibly wide forefoot to allow the foot to splay out as much as possible. Runners and walkers have been thoroughly impressed with its fit and feel. This is a great shoe for those wanting to explore natural running with more protection than most natural running or minimalist shoes and who are up for something different and unique.

3/6/2013 - The Montrail Fluid Flex is a crossover (trail/road) natural running shoe (4mm offset). Its "FluidFlex" foam is soft, resilient, and made to last much longer than typical EVA foam. I (Fritz) haven't been this excited for a shoe in a long time! We think it's perfect for Indiana trail runners who find themselves on roads from time to time.

|
3/6/2013 - The Mizuno Wave Precision 13 is a lot like the Wave Rider only lighter, softer, and more flexible. If you are looking for a lighter weight trainer with a great feel then this is the shoe for you. And they are super comfortable. We highly recommend this shoe.

10/16/2012 - The Adidas Boston 3 is another great addition to our line of light-weight trainers. This performance fitting, flexible, light-weight, and responsive trainer is perfect for your fast and efficient runs as well as an everyday trainer! 9/18/2012 - (Imagine Elaine from Seinfeld) After a snowy long run while wearing these socks, I pull out another fresh pair and cozy up next to the fire with some hot chocolate. That's how warm they feel. But what's crazy is that they are very warm when cold and wet but can still be worn even on warmer days due to its great moisture wicking properties. Here are some other great "Feetures":
- Merino+ fibers wick moisture to keep feet dry and odor-free.
- Merino+ insulates when wet - keeping your feet warm in wet, cool conditions.
- The Power Arch provides targeted support where it's needed most.
- No irritating toe seam.
- High-density cushioning provides extra protection in high impact areas.
- Anatomical right and left foot design enhances fit to help eliminate blisters.

5/24/2012 - Therawheel makes injury recovery better with a simple, durable product that works in concert with the design of the human body, and makes it easier to help athletes perform at higher levels. Greater mobility is achieved, pain is reduced, normal function is restored, recovery is accelerated, and performance is maximized. The multiple surfaces designed on the Therawheel allow it stretch soft tissue and muscle in multiple directions. Rather than rolling a muscle in a singular direction base off of other methods.

4/2/2012 - The f-LITE 195 from Inov-8 does it all. It's a super light x-over shoe that offers a very minimal and precise fit. Because it has only a 2mm heel to toe offset, runners interested in natural running will find that it offers the perfect balance of protection and ground feel both on the road and on the trail. In addition, many weight lifters appreciate its level and stable platform. Like the Bare-XF 210 (below), this also offers a great firm platform for cross fit athletes.

1/30/2012 - More great gear from the Runners Forum! What came in today? The Garmin Forerunner 910! The 910 can do everything a triathlete can do. It is water resistant! So you can swim with it as it calculates your distance, stroke identification and a ton more! These are in very high demand!
From the website...
You swim. You bike. You run. You obsess over data and details. So do we. And we’ve just perfected your new training partner. Forerunner 910XT is the only all-in-one, GPS-enabled device that provides detailed swim metrics and tracks distance, pace, elevation and heart rate¹ for running and cycling. It sports a sleek profile, comfy wristband and an easy-to-read display.
Dive In
Designed for open water and pool swimming, Forerunner 910XT is water resistant to 50 m (164 ft). It’s our first multisport watch to offer extensive swim metrics, including swim distance, stroke identification, stroke count and pool lengths. It also computes your swolf score to help you gauge your swimming efficiency. The 910XT’s robust design and easy operations make it suited for other water sports, including paddle boarding.
Because it’s GPS-enabled, Forerunner 910XT even captures the path you traveled so you can view it later on a map in our free online community,Garmin Connect™. This feature can help you analyze your open water swimming and adjust your technique as needed.
Transition Seamlessly
Whether you’re training or racing, every second counts, so the 910XT makes it easy and seamless to transition between sports. The auto multisport feature lets you switch sport modes with just 1 button press, so you don’t lose precious seconds in transition. The optional quick release mount allows you to move the 910XT easily from wrist to bike.
Try It Dry
On land, Forerunner 910XT offers many of the features of our advanced cycling computers and sport watches to accurately capture your time, distance, speed or pace. The 910XT is our first multisport device to incorporate a barometric altimeter for highly accurate elevation data, including ascent, descent and grade. Configurable data fields let you customize multiple training pages for each sport. Set up vibration alerts to give a silent nudge when you hit a split, when it’s time to take nutrition or if you need a little feedback to stay within range of your goals. With these high-level features and up to 20 hours of battery life, the 910XT is ideal for athletes training for ultras or iron distance tris.
Take It to the Next Level
For advanced training, the 910XT is compatible with ANT+™ sensors, including the optional speed/cadence sensor for cycling or premium heart rate monitor (included with some models). You can pair the 910XT with an existing ANT+ heart rate monitor or purchase as an accessory. Track your weight, body fat, body water and 6 other measurements when using the 910XT with the Tanita BC-1000 body composition scale. The readings are stored on Forerunner 910XT, then automatically sent to Garmin Connect when in range of your computer.
And for those data-driven athletes, the 910XT also is compatible with ANT+ power meters, such as Vector™, our pedal-based power meter.
Plan, Analyze and Share
Make the most of every workout by uploading to Garmin Connect. Here, you can see your activity on a map and view detailed metrics. You also can use Connect to plan new routes, create and schedule custom workouts and explore activities from other users. Through the magic of ANT+ wireless technology and the tiny USB stick that comes with your 910XT, your workout data automatically transfers to your computer when in range. Garmin Connect is Mac® and Windows® compatible.
¹Although heart rate monitor may be worn in water, it will not transmit heart rate data while submerged. |
